UN chief 'pessimistic' about Israel-Palestinian peace

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon offered the Security Council a grim assessment Wednesday of prospects for defusing the latest wave of violence between Israel and the Palestinians, a British diplomat said.
